Taking Care of You: Wellbeing Support for Parents and Carers

As we mark Mental Health Awareness Week, it’s the perfect time to reflect on your own wellbeing. Parenthood brings joy and purpose, but it can also feel overwhelming—especially in the early years. Looking after your mental health isn’t a luxury; it’s an essential part of being the parent you want to be.

If you're feeling low, anxious, or simply need someone to listen, please know you're not alone. Our Family Advice and Guidance service offers confidential phone support—we’re here to listen and connect you with the right help.

There are also trusted organisations you can turn to for support:

  • Your GP can talk through how you’re feeling and guide you to appropriate services.

  • Mind (mind.org.uk) provides advice and support for a wide range of mental health concerns.

At our Family Hub, we also host regular Drop-in Coffee Afternoons a welcoming space to meet other parents and chat with friendly staff.

And if you're caring for a baby or toddler under 2, our partners at Healthy Minds Thrive offer a supportive environment where you can share experiences and build confidence in your parenting journey.

Your wellbeing matters. Taking care of yourself helps you better care for your family and we're here to support you every step of the way.
