Support for Dads & Male Carers

As we mark Mental Health Awareness Week, it’s important to shine a light on the often-overlooked experiences of dads and the support available to them. Fatherhood can be incredibly rewarding, but it also comes with its own unique challenges.

Whether you're a new dad, co-parenting, or simply navigating the ups and downs of parenthood, there’s help available and you're not alone.

Below we have highlighted the range of support services available for dads & male carers in Southwark, including those offered through local Family Hubs.

Future Men

Future Men provides the community 1:1 informal support, help and advice. The project engages fathers, recognising the importance of their care and responsibilities in raising children.

The Proper Blokes Club

The Proper Blokes Club is a men's mental health initiative that offers a supportive environment for men to discuss life's challenges. The club organizes weekly walk-and-talk sessions across London, providing a space for men to connect, share experiences, and support each other.

How Can It Help Dads?

Dads face unique pressures, from balancing work and family life to navigating the emotional complexities of parenthood. The Proper Blokes Club's "Dad's Space" sessions cater specifically to fathers, offering a relaxed setting to talk about parenting, relationships, and personal well-being. Whether you're an expectant father or have children up to age 5, these sessions provide a non-judgmental space to connect with other dads and share experiences.
