Save Up to £2,000 a Year with Tax-Free Childcare
Did you know working parents can get help with childcare costs through the government’s Tax-Free Childcare scheme?
You can get up to £500 every 3 months (up to £2,000 a year) for each of your children to help with the costs of childcare. This goes up to £1,000 every 3 months if a child is disabled (up to £4,000 a year).
Who Can Apply?
You (and your partner, if you have one) must both be working, earning at least £195 a week.
Your child must be under 12 (or under 17 if disabled).
You can’t use it if you claim Universal Credit or tax credits.
How It Works
Open an account via Childcare Choices.
Pay in what you need, and the government tops it up.
Use it to pay registered childcare providers.
Reconfirm your details every 3 months to stay eligible.
You can combine Tax-Free Childcare with 15 or 30 hours of free childcare in England.
It’s easy to set up and could save you thousands.
