Save Up to £2,000 a Year with Tax-Free Childcare

Did you know working parents can get help with childcare costs through the government’s Tax-Free Childcare scheme?

You can get up to £500 every 3 months (up to £2,000 a year) for each of your children to help with the costs of childcare. This goes up to £1,000 every 3 months if a child is disabled (up to £4,000 a year).

Who Can Apply?

  • You (and your partner, if you have one) must both be working, earning at least £195 a week.

  • Your child must be under 12 (or under 17 if disabled).

  • You can’t use it if you claim Universal Credit or tax credits.

How It Works

  • Open an account via Childcare Choices.

  • Pay in what you need, and the government tops it up.

  • Use it to pay registered childcare providers.

  • Reconfirm your details every 3 months to stay eligible.

You can combine Tax-Free Childcare with 15 or 30 hours of free childcare in England.

It’s easy to set up and could save you thousands.

Visit gov.uk/tax-free-childcare to check eligibility and apply.
