The Princess of Wales to Visit Reggio Emilia

Her Royal Highness Catherine, Princess of Wales is set to visit Reggio Emilia in Italy next week, the internationally recognised home of the Reggio Emilia approach. 

We were especially excited to hear the news as some of our team will also be visiting Reggio Emilia in a few weeks as part of our ongoing engagement with the Reggio Emilia approach. 

The Royal visit places a spotlight on early childhood education and the importance of the early years in shaping children’s futures. 

At 1st Place, this is something we have been committed to for some time. 

The Reggio Emilia philosophy is rooted in the belief that children are capable, curious, and full of potential. It values creativity, exploration, strong relationships, and environments that support learning in meaningful ways. These principles are already embedded in our work at 1st Place.

Spending time in Reggio Emilia allows us to deepen this further, learning from other early educators, reflecting on our practice, and continuing to strengthen what we offer to children and families.
