Funded Nursery Places

We offer free government‑funded childcare places. Below you’ll find information about free and funded places.

All children are eligible for 15 funded hours from the term after their 3rd birthday (starting 1 January, 1 April, or 1 September).

Funded places for the 15‑hour offer are arranged directly the nursery. Apply for a part‑time funded place here.

Free 15 hours childcare

For children aged 9 months to 4 years. Eligible working families can apply for 30 hours of childcare to use from the term after their child turns 9 months until they reach school age. Check the Best Start in Life website for more information.

Free 30 hours childcare

Families can also get support for additional hours beyond the 15 or 30 free hours through other schemes, such as Tax‑Free Childcare or Universal Credit. These can be used alongside funded hours and do not affect entitlement. Please visit the Best Start in Life website to find out more.

Government-funded childcare is calculated over 38 weeks of the year (term time); however, our nursery operates for 50 weeks. This means the funded hours are spread across the full 50 weeks we are open. When stretched, the 15-hour entitlement works out at 11.4 hours per week, and the 30-hour entitlement works out at 22.8 hours per week.

Families can check their eligibility and complete the application process through the Best Start in Life website.

15-hour entitlement is available as AM sessions (9:00 am–12:00 pm) or PM sessions (1:00 pm–4:00 pm). 30-hour entitlement is available Monday–Friday, 9:00 am–3:00 pm.

Additional hours outside the universal funded entitlement are available in line with our fee structure. Please refer to our fee sheet for details.
