At 1st Place we know that bringing up young children can be difficult, and at times, can feel overwhelming. Whatever your situation, we are here to help.
We can provide emotional and practical support. You can access our sessions and courses to get advice about your child’s development from our team and other professionals.
Our Services
1st Place is part of a network of Children and Family Centres in the Borough of Southwark. In partnership with Coin Street, we offer support, information and guidance to families with children aged 0-5 years in the Borough, Bankside and Walworth locality.

Activities
The early years of your child’s life are the most important phase of their development. We provide a wide range of opportunities for you and your child to learn through play from birth to when your child goes to nursery or school.
Learning
If you are a parent looking to develop your skills and knowledge, we can help. From English to parenting courses, we have free training opportunities to help you to support your child or to enable you return to work or education. We also provide a free creche.
Support
When coping with the pressures of family life are challenging, our Family Support team can provide:
One-to-one support to help you with your child’s learning and development, and strategies to manage routines and behaviour.
Help to access employment, volunteering or further education.
Assistance in accessing other services if you require further support. For example, housing or immigration advice.
Help to build your self-esteem and confidence.
